IGNOU Law Admission Course in Detail

Undergraduate law degrees include the three-year Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and five-year integrated programs that combine law and another subject, such as BA LLB, BCom LLB, or BSc LLB. Among the fundamental subjects are criminal law, contract law, property law, and constitutional law. IGNOU Law Admission Process 2026

IGNOU Law admission last date for the January session is 31st January 2026. Apply for an IGNOU Law course by going to the official admissions portal, creating a login with your information, and then completing the application for the program of your choice. Before submitting the form, you must pay the application fee online and upload scanned copies of the necessary documents. Here is the step-by-step guide-

• Step 1: Navigate to the IGNOU admission portal- To access the admission portal, go to the official IGNOU website and select the “Apply Now” or “Register” tab. Keep in mind that online programs and ODL (Open and Distance Learning) have their own portals.
• Step 2: Register for a new account- Click on the “New Registration” button and fill in all the relevant details, such as name, DOB, email, and contact number, to create a username and password.
• Step 3: Log in and fill out the application form- Enter your newly created login credentials to access the admissions portal. Fill out the online application by providing all required information.
• Step 4: Attach Required Documents- Upload all the required scanned documents on the official portal.
• Step 5: Pay Application Fees- Use one of the available online payment options, such as UPI, credit card, debit card, or net banking, to pay the application fee.
• Step 6: Submit Your Application Form- After completing all formalities, you need to submit your application form. You can save a copy of that form for your records.

IGNOU Law Admission Fees 2026

Tuition cost of IGNOU law courses varies according to the program; for instance, the Post Graduate Certificate in Cyber Law (PGCCL) costs ₹8,400, while the Post-Graduate Certificate in Patent Practice (PGCPP) costs between ₹10,000 and ₹25,000. IGNOU Law admission process has started from 16th December 2025. Because the Bar Council of India prohibits distance learning for this particular degree, the university does not offer a traditional LLB degree.
